As teaching methods and technology evolve and the needs and expectations of our students grow more complex, Nichols is determined to build and renovate campus facilities that fully prepare them for their roles as future leaders.
Fels Student Center
Home to a distinctive high-tech finance classroom and services that promote student involvement and success, the Fels Student Center, which opened in the fall of 2012, has rapidly become the heart and hub of the Nichols community. The facility features modern classrooms; the offices of the Career and Professional Development Center and Student Involvement; the bookstore; a post office; and plenty of couches and corners to study, socialize, or savor a gourmet coffee or a quick bite between classes.
Academic Building
Opened in the fall of 2015, the academic building is ushering in a new era of teaching at Nichols College. The attractive 27,500-square-foot structure houses several technology-rich collaborative classrooms and breakout areas to promote team-based learning; a student board room; a visual media suite; faculty offices; the Institute for Women’s Leadership; and academic services, such as the registrar and student advising. Athletics and Recreation Renovations
Meeting the growing needs of our student-athletes – and number of students who desire to stay fit – is a top priority at Nichols. Renovations include new locker rooms, which feature 50 new pro-style lockers; a spacious fitness center; a weight room; and a new addition to Chalmers Field House that houses a training and aerobics/dance space. Outside, significant upgrades were made to the tennis courts. The redesign has heightened possibilities for Bison athletics. Read more here.
Center Road Reconstruction
Nichols is partnering with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to transform Center Road. Nichols will contribute to the state-funded road reconstruction by adding stone pillars at the college’s entrances, period lighting, and prominent crosswalks to increase safety and promote Nichols’ presence.
